Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7000: Features and Guard Lengths Explained
The Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7000 (BG7030/49) trims with a five-length comb from 3 to 11 mm and shaves with a 4D contour-following head, on 80 minutes of cordless use after a one-hour charge. Philips calls it showerproof and sells it for everywhere below the neck.
Below is what Philips prints on its own pages, how the 7000 compares with the other Norelco groomers, and when a safety razor is the better tool.
Bodygroom 7000 guard lengths and run time
The BG7030 page lists an adjustable comb with trim lengths from 3 to 11 mm across five settings. It does not print the five individual lengths, so check the comb itself or the manual before you rely on a specific setting.
The same page lists 80 minutes of lithium-ion run time and a one-hour charge. The design is dual-sided, so you flip between a four-directional shaver and the adjustable trimmer.

Bodygroom 7000 against the other Norelco groomers
| Philips model | Head | Trim lengths | Cordless run time | Philips page price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bodygroom 7000 BG7030/49 | Dual-sided: 4D contour shaver and adjustable trimmer | 5-length comb, 3 to 11 mm | 80 min, 1 hour charge | Retailers only, no price shown |
| Bodygroom 7000 BG7040/42 | Same as BG7030, plus extra foil and storage case | 5-length comb, 3 to 11 mm | 80 min, 1 hour charge | Retailers only, no price shown |
| Body Groomer 7000 Series BG7480/50 | 2D flex head, dual trim-shave system, foldable back attachment | 11 length settings | Up to 120 min (series page) | $69.96, was $89.96 |
| 9000 Series BG9480/50 | 2D flexing head, interchangeable trimmer head, UV cube | Combs, lengths not listed | Not listed | $129.96 |
All figures come from the Philips USA product pages, read on 10 October 2026. The BG7480 is the current Body Groomer 7000 Series and its page header shows a 2 year warranty.
That means the “Bodygroom 7000” you find at retailers may be either generation. Read the model number on the box, not the name.
Showerproof, replacement head and what Philips does not say
Philips describes the BG7030 and BG7040 as showerproof. The page text I read does not print an IPX rating, so do not assume the groomer is rated for being fully submerged.
For the replacement head, the BG7030 page lists foil BG2000/40 under parts and accessories at a suggested $14.99. The newer BG7480 page lists foil BG2010/40 at $14.96 with a 12 month replacement interval. Match the part to your model number before you order.
When a razor is the better tool below the neck
The 7000 has a foil shaver on one side, so it can shave, not only trim. Philips lists shaving to 0.2 mm on the newer 7000 Series page. Whether that matches a blade is your call, and our safety razor for legs guide covers what a razor needs on long strokes.
The Philips pages do not publish an irritation test for the groin. If you get bumps after shaving, how to fix razor bumps after shaving explains the usual causes. To weigh razor types before you commit, read safety razor versus cartridge razor.
